A Thai businessman named Chalermchai Kositpipat opened the temple to visitors in 1997. The color of the temple is white and to decorate the temple glass pieces are used that can sparkle in the sun. While white indicates the purity of Buddha, the glass is the symbol of Buddha’s wisdom.

Khuti Puja of Deshapriya Park Durga Puja 2023 was celebrated this year on 25th June at 9:30 am. Deshapriya Park Sarbojanin Durga Puja will celebrate its 86th anniversary this year. On this khuti puja, MLA and Mayor Parishad of Calcutta Municipality, Debashis Kumar, was present at Deshapriya Park. Fashion designers like Shantanu Guha Thakurta, Tejas Gandhi, and Arnav Sengupta were also present during the Khuti puja.
According to Sudipta Kumar, secretary of this Puja committee, people can expect to see something special this year. He also said that they will soon release the puja hoarding.
